Upcoming bokashi and EM events

Weekday Bokashi Work Days
Every Thursday 10 am - 11:30 am

and the Children's Garden (12th St & Ave B, southwest corner) [Map].
♿ Wheelchair accessible (Note: the gardens are at ground level, but pathways in the garden are not even.)
Activities usually occur at the Children's Garden.
We'll be going back and forth between the two gardens treating, fermenting food waste (FFW), trenching FFW, feeding earthworms, and/or making bokashi.


Workshop: Bokashi Advanced

Wheelchair accessible.
We will cover bokashi in-depth from how bokashi works, different ways to make it, and different applications, including soil remediation, mudballs/water remediation, dog waste and cat litter. We can also cover bokashi probiotics (edible bokashi) and business development around bokashi depending on interest.
Workshop fee: $12 (for the space)

We will cover the why and how of beneficial mudballs (also known as EM mudballs), and we'll prepare the ingredients (making bokashi and Activated EM, Effective Microorganisms) for making the mudballs in the following workshop (4/14--to be confirmed).
Suggested donation: $12 (for the space)

We are meeting at the home of Wah Mohn.
Come and talk about your bokashi and EM experiences.
We will make a fermented drink with EM.
We will have fermented drinks and snacks. If you have some fermented foods or drinks you would like to bring to share, please do so. You can also bring snacks and drinks if you like.
